How Can I Benefit From Therapy?

There are so many benefits to therapy! The obvious answer is an improvement in mental health. Mental health is a broad concept that encompasses a great part of our lives, including our psychological and emotional wellbeing. A positive change in mental health can lead to more adaptive ways of thinking, acting, and feeling. Even our physical health can be enhanced when our mental state gets a boost. Therapy helps people work on issues now, to promote healing wounds of the past, living in the present, and appropriately planning for the future. It is like the gift that keeps on giving.

Who Will Have Access To My Information?

Confidentiality is of utmost importance. The therapeutic relationship between client and therapist cannot survive without it. That is why I take your information seriously and do not share it with anyone, without your consent. If you choose to allow me to share information with others, a Release of Information (ROI) would need to be filled out. Note: There are limits to confidentiality, which include making threats against yourself or others, reporting child abuse, reporting abuse of a vulnerable adult, and court orders.

What Therapeutic Modalities Are Used?

I use a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), with elements of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
